And no one should bring up the legions of Muslims worldwide who take the book’s many jihad passages quite literally — slay the unbelievers (9:5) to them means just that: slay the unbelievers. Nor should anyone mention the fact that little or nothing is being done by self-proclaimed moderate Muslims to refute the interpretation of the Qur’an that jihadists are using to recruit and motivate terrorists today. Why would you want to bring up all that? What are you, some kind of Islamophobe?
